We faced many setbacks along the way, for example, it is difficult to make a perfectly spherical wheel as we had to estimate the dimensions and if we were to stick all of the surrounding paper together, it will not be even and the ball would not be a complete sphere.

Instead, the wheel would be lopsided and the Will-chair will not be able to stabilise.

User Feedback

Positive

  • Interesting features
  • Very beneficial for the user
  • Good idea that can be introduced to the market

Negative

  • Cannot accept this futuristic idea
  • Technology seems too advanced
  • Unrealistic
  • Cost of wheelchair may be too expensive
  • Idea may not be accepted/supported by the public

Our aim was to increase the mobility, maneuverability and a sense of independence for the physically handicapped. An example would be our persona named royston, who is paralysed from the waist down after an accident. Royston is an avid basketball player representing the school team and not only wants to be able to get from point A to point B, but to be able to continue playing basketball as well.

Empathy Map

Say

  • Pretty shit
  • Not realistic
  • Too advanced technology
  • Portable; good idea
  • Saves time as everything is controlled through brainwaves

Feel

  • Comfort wise ??

  • Whatever that comes to their mind may not be what they want to do
  • More realistic technology

Think

  • Need to teach the users as they may not understand how to use it
